Military Popcorn Donation- Fairfield Police Explorers

My name is J.D. Connon and I'm a Junior at Fairfield Senior High School in Fairfield, OH. When I'm not hitting the books, I'm busy with the Marching Band, volunteering at the local animal shelter, and participating in the Fairfield Police Explorers. I've got an extremely heavy workload this year at school, consisting of Calculus, Anatomy, Behavorial Sciences, Spanish III, Chemistry, English and Wind Ensemble. It's going to be a busy year! Being involved with the Explorer's allows me to learn valuable skills for the future, it allows me to volunteer in the community, and it allows me to participate in some great fund-raising activities which benefit our organization as well as our soldiers - like this one!

Exploring is a worksite-based program. It is part of Learning for Life's career education program for young men and women who are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years old. Exploring's purpose is to provide experiences that help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults. Explorers are ready to investigate the meaning of interdependence in their personal relationships and communities. Exploring is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between youth and the organizations in their communities. Local community organizations initiate a specific Explorer post by matching their people and program resources to the interests of young people in the community. The result is a program of activities that helps youth pursue their special interests, grow, and develop.
